You do understand that quasi-anechoic GP FR measurements are not, in any way shape or form "in room" measurements? People rag on Klipsch for using in room and half space for measurements when there has been nothing but in room measurements for PSA subs. Since reports of power surges damaging subs are extremely rare (if there are any at all), this is not something I would worry about if I were you.Ĭlick to expand. But that isn't what you claimed. I believe that most people who post in this section of AVS Forum have at least two subs, and as noted, plugging multiple subs into power conditioners would be difficult even if people wanted to. Like most houses, I have had many random power surges and power outages over the years, and my subs have never been damaged by that. But, I don't believe that power surges are likely to damage a subwoofer amplifier. But, since I believe that the Panamax is unnecessary in this case to begin with, why would I take the chance?Ī lightning strike on a house can certainly fry a subwoofer among other things. To what extent a particular power conditioner might restrict peak amp power is unknown. I do have a couple of Panamax power conditioners, but with four widely distributed subs it would be difficult to plug my subs into them even if I wanted to. No, I don't! I have had various subs for about 15 years, and I have always plugged them directly into wall outlets with no problems.
